Transport Training

Holistic Partnership is able to deliver assessments for both of the Community Transport Associations MiDAS schemes for organisations  offering transport services

MiDAS for Minibus Drivers

MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, organised by the Community Transport Association U.K. (CTA) which promotes a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers. It is a membership based scheme that has been designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses

MiDAS is applicable to any organisation operating or using minibuses. Member organisations range from small voluntary organisations operating one vehicle, to local authorities operating large fleets of minibuses as well as schools, colleges and universities.

There are two levels of MiDAS assessment available depending on the type of minibus driven – easy-access or standard. We recommend that all drivers undertake the ‘accessible' assessment since this would then cover them for both sorts of minibus. The training covers the safety aspects of different types of equipment used in accessible minibuses, and aims to ensure the safe carriage of passengers travelling in wheelchairs and others with mobility difficulties.

· You and your passengers will be aware that your driving competence has been assessed to a common country-wide standard.

· You will receive up to date training in the skills and information needed to drive a minibus.

· You will be able to drive the minibuses of other MiDAS members without having your driving skills re-asse
ssed.
